The Great Thaw, Intro Journaling Prompts

Thawing is intentional slowness where we are not judging ourselves against our past capacity, our past accomplishments, our past patterns, but are just embodying gratitude towards the way that we’re connecting with creativity in the singular moment. – Jeanna

As part of the introductory Zoom, Jeanna and Meg offered the following prompts for journaling.

Where have you felt frozen in your life and creative endeavors, and how long?
I’ve felt frozen in all my creative aspects. I’ve stalled in my knitting, I haven’t worked on my journaling, let alone my book… I have hardly done any tarot work.

Where might you feel frozen in movement?
I feel frozen in a holding pattern with my relationship to drugs and alcohol. I need to quit dancing back and forth between knowing that I should live fully in my reality and wanting to escape it so bad I can hardly stand it.

What reminders do you tend to need about movement and rest?
Often, I need to be reminded to move. I get stuck in my routine and forget to stretch, stretch out my muscles and my creativity on the climbing wall. I also need to be reminded to rest. I’ll push push push until I’m ready to fall apart.

What resources support you during your thaws?
My therapists and my medical care team are there to support me. My siblings and my best friends are here. The other cohorts of The Grove are now here to support me, too.
